Changes in La Rioja Bike Race presented by Shimano 2018 route

The planned stages 1 and 2  alternate their order, the stage 2 now has a new loop and kilometres and climbing changes

1.200 mountain bikers registered are ready to face the fifth edition of La Rioja Bike Race presented by Shimano, the most intense of those raced. Besides the changes made due to forestry works in Moncalvillo, the distance and elevation barely change.

The only stage modified has been the second (planned as first), which substitutes an unknown loop along Moncalvillo’s summit, for the mythical descend of La Hermedaña, which is followed by a second climb to Moncalvillo to join the sensational downhill of Las Neveras.

It will be the shortest and with least metres of climbing but as fantastic as it’s expected for La Rioja Bike Race presented by Shimano. For the first time, there will not be a stage that exceeds eighty kilometres, and in fact none will reach seventy. The 2018 edition will consist of three very balanced stages, full of fun singletracks, fascinating landscapes and diabolic climbs, with mythical and new stretches, in order thrill all its riders for the fifth time.
