700 Riders will participate in the 10th edition of the La Rioja Bike Race Presented by Pirelli

Olympic champion Carlos Coloma, cyclo-cross legend Felipe Orts and Meritxell Figueras, reigning champion, will be the great entertainers of this edition.

Only 24 hours left for the start of a special edition, the 10th. This milestone places La Rioja Bike Race presented by Pirelli as one of the most traditional stage races in the biker calendar. With its main center in Logroño and with 151 km and 3,320 m of elevation gain spread over 3 stages, new trails and already known places will be covered that will delight participants eager for epic.

Once again, the cycling community has responded with enthusiasm to the proposal made by OCTAGON ESEDOS, organizer of the Mountain Bike competitions by stages under the name "Bike Race by Octagon Esedos".

As for the participation, big names stand out. In the men's category, Riojan Carlos Coloma, Olympic medalist in Rio 2016, will compete with his team BH Coloma Team. Coloma's roster is completed with the promising Raúl Villar and Mónica Plaza.

Another illustrious name is Felipe Orts. The title list of the rider from Villajoyosa is impressive: 9 national CX titles and a great animator of the European cyclo-cross circuit. Surely, the rider from Alicante will use his off-road technique to take the final victory.

In the women's category, Meritxell Figueras returns to defend her title as reigning champion of La Rioja Bike Race. The Cannondale ISB rider is taking a 2024 with outstanding results, such as the stage won in Andalucía Bike Race by Garmin and the second place overall.

One of the most outstanding novelties of this year's route is the inclusion of a 20 km XCT time trial in the first stage. A day with start and finish in Logroño whose main feature will be an XCO circuit in La Grajera that cyclists will have to ride around.

On the second day, the XCM marathon format returns in style with the Škoda Super Stage of 77 km, with the climbs to Luezas from the Iregua Valley and Peña Aldera as highlights. Starting and finishing at the Palacio de los Deportes in Logroño, the route of this stage will take the cyclists on old recovered and technical roads, finishing on trails where they will descend very smoothly.

The 10th edition will close with a classic stage starting and finishing in Logroño, which will run through the Moncalvillo mountains and its well-known variety of trails. This stage will test both uphill and downhill skills, with trails characterized by pine forests full of roots and stones for the enjoyment of cyclists.

The oficial presentation with authorities will be on Friday 17/05 at 12:00AM at the paddock’s podium stage, which will be located in the Palacio de los Deportes de La Rioja.
