Carlos Coloma, Raul Villar and Mónica Plaza will participate in La Rioja Bike Race 2024

La Rioja Bike Race will once again dress up in its best clothes to celebrate one of the most important stage races on the calendar. The tenth edition will take place next week from the 17th to the 19th of May and will count with the outstanding presence of Carlos Coloma, ambassador of the Rioja region all over the world, who will be on his bike during the three days of competition. In addition, La Nucia BH Coloma Academy rider Raul Villar will also be present.

The team will disembark in La Rioja next Tuesday aboard the new truck of the formation, with the aim of having the tents ready for the biomechanics session that will take place on Wednesday with Pele. On Thursday morning it will be the turn of the sponsors, who will have the chance to ride stage 1, while in the afternoon it will be the children of the school who will take the start from the truck itself.

The last hour of Friday morning will be reserved for the 'Wine with Authorities', which will take place before the first stage. The second day of the race will take up most of the morning and around midday the truck will be dismantled and the Paddock Co-Factory will be set up. La Rioja Bike Race 2024 is a three-day race. The first stage has the novelty that it will be held in time trial format on a route of 20.66 kilometres and 503 metres of positive difference in altitude, which will include a lap of the XCO circuit of La Grajera. The first contact stage will also be the least demanding day, although single-tracks and short, explosive climbs will take centre stage.

The other two stages will be purely XCM. The second ̶ 77 km and 1,534 metres of elevation gain, mostly concentrated in the first 30 km ̶ will be marked by technical old recovered roads and by a final part of trails that will give priority to the fluidity of the riders.

Finally, the third stage ̶ 54.03 km and 1,283 metres of elevation gain ̶ will feature a variety of trails characterised by crossing the typical pine forests of the area, which will be laden with roots and stones; a tough end to the festival both on the ascents and descents.

All the stages start and finish in Logroño, the nerve centre of the race.
