The seventh edition of La Rioja Bike Race presented by Pirelli, which had to be held between May 7 and 10, 2020, has been postponed due to the health crisis of COVID-19. The organization of the competition has come to a decision jointly with the Riojan Cycling Federation, the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation, following the protocol of the Spanish governmental and health authorities and the International Cycling Union (UCI), which a few days ago temporarily suspended all competitions (https://www.uci.org/inside-uci/press-releases/uci-decisions-concerning-cycling-disciplines-other-than-road-faced-with-the-coronavirus). It should be remembered that La Rioja Bike Race is part of the international calendar of stage BTT competition.
This decision has been made given the exceptional situation around the world and the changing circumstances due to the spread of COVID-19. Also, the main priority has always been the health and safety of all participants, organization and fans. We are aware of the inconveniences that this measure can cause and it has not been an easy decision to make given the current circumstances, therefore we appreciate your understanding and we encourage you to participate later.
All bikers registered to La Rioja Bike Race presented by Pirelli 2020 will keep their registration for the new date. Those who cannot attend the new date may choose to postpone their registration for the 2021 edition. On the official website, www.lariojabikerace.com you will find the new regulation with all the options related to registrations, postponements or new addition to the list registered for the 2020 new edition. Furthermore, you can also use the registration for another Bike Race event organized by Octagon Esedos.
The organization has also decided to keep the current price of 229€, until closing registrations, which will be on October 25, 2020 and not to apply the price increase to 249 euros foreseen in the current regulations
