The Škoda Super Stage, the second stage of La Rioja Bike Race 2025, once again challenged the top riders on the national scene with a demanding day of pure mountain biking, starting and finishing at the Palacio de los Deportes de La Rioja in Logroño.
The stage, covering 78.56 kilometers with 1,523 meters of elevation gain, began at 9:30 a.m. and featured a spectacular route through some of the most iconic spots in the Iregua Valley. Among the stage highlights were the legendary Roman road in Viguera (absent since 2023), the tough climb to Cerrollera, and the debut of the Senda Bonita—a technical and natural section introduced this year. The return to Logroño also included trails from the local Bike Park, adding a smooth, fun, and highly visual finish for the spectators.
In the men’s category, Mario Sinués sprinted to victory in a closely contested finish after a tough and highly tactical day. Despite not winning the stage, Ever Alejandro Gómez retains the overall lead thanks to his consistency. Axel Badia and Xavier Pijuan rounded out the day’s podium.
In the women’s race, Txell Figueras proved the strongest of the day, winning both the stage and the overall lead after a solid and consistent performance. Noemí Moreno and Cristina Morán completed the women’s podium.
The general classification is beginning to take shape, but everything is still up for grabs heading into the final stage of the race, which will take place tomorrow, Sunday, featuring another marathon route starting and finishing in Logroño.
